Painting 12

Looks better from a distance I think.

I did this picture to try out the "flesh tone" paint (which I found rather pink actually, maybe it should really be called Lips, or Tongue? The Parts Under The Skin That Make Zombies Drool?) I mixed it with titanium white, french ultramarine, and cadmium yellow light hue to get some variations, and a dab of the raw umber I used in the background with shadows. It was referencing a stock photo from deviant art.

I need more work painting people, for sure. (Then again, I need it on everything. *shrug*)

I'm so impressed! I can't draw figures at all, so the fact that you can create something that looks human so easily really blows me away. :D

I agree the drawing, on painting people is more then half the battle and I think you did a great job on this.

Don't get down on yourself about needing practice, that's what this whole 100 paintings idea is about right? :)

Thanks all,

and yes, that is the purpose of the 100 paintings, to learn, so that I can do another 100, and another 100... :D
